Swapping hosts
If I want to move a domain from one host using HSphere, to another using CPanel, is this the best way to do it:
1) Setup domain on new cpanel box.
2) Edit DNS on new Cpanel box putting an A record in for the domain using the IP of the old box
3) Put a MX entry in with the IP of the old mail server
4) Change TTL to 15 mins
4) Goto registrar & enter in new NS details.
This gets DNS running on new host, services on old host.
Then, 48 hours later (so everybody has picked up the new TTL) change the A record & MX records to match IP's of new host.
I do it this way because HSphere doesn't let you edit the inbuilt A records - but CPanel lets you do whatever you please with DNS.
