Better use of resources?

Heres the story, we have got 10 or so webservers, half of them standard hosting and the other half reseller hosting, mostly all of them running BSD + CPanel.

How many LARGE hosts here are using CPanel? It seems to me that spreading the load across all of the machines is a better use of resources.

For example, two machines handling DNS, two handle MYSQL, one doing MAIL and the rest doing HTTP.

We want a more stable + resiliant setup, so we can lose servers and still keep our customers sites online.
