Pointing a domain at an IP address

Hi there

I really hope you guys can shed some light on this for me!

I have just been approached by a guy who wants me to host his sites. There is just one small problem though. When he registered his domains, he did them as a 'package deal' through his local ISP, which included his domains, mail, dialups etc. The beginning of his problem is that he is still tied into his contract with the ISP for another 6 months and can therefore not transfer his domains.

Even though he can't transfer the domains, the ISP has agreed to point them to the new host. The next problem is that they can't change the DNS, due to the fact that his mail etc will still be done through the ISP. I then mailed the ISP and asked them what they needed from me so that they could point the domain. In their own words, and I quote, they need a "triple w name" to point the site to. I have never heard this term before, but I assume that it's the shared IP that his domains will be on?

I have setup his domains in whm/cpanel as normal and in the domains DNS zone the IP address is reflected in the A records.

So after my rather lengthy explanation, I gues my question is, will it work if they point his domains to the shared IP address? If not, what do I need to do so that his sites resolve correctly?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Ballistix
