How to make your domain name point somewhere else?

I run my own web-site and install all of my own scripts, but the other admin registers stuff like domain names, vbulletin, etc.

He's unsure on how to tell the domain name to not point at index.html and he wants to tell it to point to main.php. Is this possible?
