I maintain a small focused directory of around 2,500 sites, and I would like to create web snapshot thumbnails like those which appear on http://alexa.com/ or http://www.whois.sc/ (though I'd like to create my own so I can control update frequency and create the thumbnail as soon as someone submits a site and it's approved and so I can control dimensions and include some sub-sites that are not included in the above (sites without domains of their own.)
Question: what methods exist for generating such web "screen-capture" images this on a linux server?
