Doing a full system backup - how
I'm after a little advice here. I am just about to spend a lot of money on a custom oscommerce solution. It is highly customised with extra tables, class files etc, custom designed components etc.
Now the deliverables for this are basically a working installation on the server. Thats ok, but I want to do a complete backup. Now the system has a spare disk in it, thats not in use where the backup can be located for downloadd.
The system is a bare bones RHE system without cpanel etc. Whats the best way to do a full backup so that in case of total failure I can reload the site from backup ?
I realise it will probabily involve tar and sql dump but this is the sort of thing you only get once chance to do it right. If its wrong you wont find out till its too late.
I will be getting some gurus to fix it all up security wise etc, but at the moment im testing on a shared box so it aint that much of an issue.
