Plenty of HD space left but the ftp server is saying there's no disk space left...

It's strange Plenty of HD space left but the ftp server is saying there's no disk space left... Plenty of HD space left but the ftp server is saying there's no disk space left... ProFTPd is the ftp server and There's still over 30-40GB left. Anyone experienced this before? How to fix this...Plenty of HD space left but the ftp server is saying there's no disk space left...
