DNS / Email issues
Hi everyone,I tried searching on this but couldn't find anything that was quite what I was looking for. Aside from being a relative newbie, here is my issue:
When I got my box (RHE/Cpanel), I had an outside company "secure" it and setup my nameservers. Not quite knowing what I was doing, I had them setup nameservers on my box. I hadn't been using the box on a regular basis so didn't realize this until a month later, but the email was goofy. It would work when I used webmail, but would not work when using a desktop mail application. I submitted tickets at time and time again and had everything from a reinstall of redhat to exim to pop server and nothing worked. Finally they said it was probably my nameservers. So, I switched them to the company's nameservers NS1.company.COM and NS2.company.COM, but it still doesn't work correctly. Also, when I ran a domain on my box in DNSREPORT.com it gave me a bunch of errors and showed that I had NS1.parentcompany.com, NS2.parentcompany.COM as nameservers. SO.....I'm not sure if anybody knows what may be wrong and how I can correct this problem before I start putting client sites on this box.
