named question (simple?)

Okay, I noticed last night that my personal website, www.clueless.net would not load. I've made absolutely no changes to the server lately. I stop/started httpd, it PIDs. Now, check this out:

root@ice:~/ %> ps -ax|grep named
11411 ? S 0:00 named

Why is there a question mark after the pid? I've not seen this before. If I do /etc/rc.d/init.d/named status I see this:

I'm confused. I stop/started named and it acts like it starts...weird, huh?
