Server backup via disk images
We are looking into a way to backup our servers to disk images. The system would need to backup partition information as well as data so that in case of HD failure, we could boot from a floppy and restore the last image from NFS which would include the partitions, OS and Data.
It also has to be able to create the image while running as we do not want to bring the machine down to perform backups and be able to run automatically via cron.
I have looked at Mondo rescue but I'm not sure if fullfills all of our requirements. The is not a lot of documentaiton available.
Anybody has a similar setup ? If so, which software do you use and how well does it work ?
Edit: I also just saw that the Mondo project is closed due to legal actions from Fastservers ?
