Linux O/S hard drive question

Hello Folks,

Is it a bad idea to have a mix of ext2 and ext3 patitions on a hard drive?

Here is my situation. I wanted to create an ext3 /tmp partition on my system... but parted did not allow me to do so. As such, I was left with no other choice but to create /tmp as an ext2.

Only trouble is that all of my other partitions (with the exception of swap) are ext3.

Do you see any problems with that? and is it something I should concern myself with?

I am working on a scsi disk and /tmp is mounted with options noexec, nosuid,rw 0 0

Thanks,
Lamp
