Veritas Backup Exec 9.1 - Help diagnose my error messages please.

I had a nice copy of Active directory installed along with intergrated DNS.

I did a tape backup of my whole drive including system state. Then i decided to delete my active directory so i could test the tape backup before i put my server live.

When delete active directory and rebooted my machine i was greeted with the following error message:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SQL server could not find the default instance (MSSQLSERVER) - please specify the name of an existing instance on the invocation of sqlservr.exe

If you believe that your installation is corrupt or has been tampered with, uninstall then re-run set-up to correct this problem
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And when I try to catolog my tape or restore I get this error:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SQL server could not find the default instance (MSSQLSERVER) - please specify the name of an existing instance on the invocation of sqlservr.exe

If you believe that your installation is corrupt or has been tampered with, uninstall then re-run set-up to correct this problem
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Someone must know a solution to this? I've asked on all kinds of forums even Veritas support havent replied.. Veritas Backup Exec 9.1 - Help diagnose my error messages please.
