DSN and Mail Server Question.
Hi All,I have a DNS question that I hope is being asked in the correct forum. My understanding of DNS is above the novice level, so the explanation doesnt need to be overly detailed (unless you want it to be).
I had been running a mail server in my office to handle office mail for a number of months, but got caught with my pants down in the Norvergence scam, so I took the domain and mail out of the office(lets call it office.com for this example) and put on one of my reseller accounts (lets call it reseller.com).
I want to move mail back in-house, but want to keep the web at my reseller account (Hsphere). I have my office server running as a backup server now via a custom MX record in Hsphere. I want to have my ISP (lets call it isp.com) host the DNS. So .. the question of the hour is; How do I have my ISP host the DNS and have everything point to the correct places? I know its easy if everything was being moved in-house, but the point where my brain starts to smoke is when the reseller account, in-house mail server and DNS being hosted by my ISP come into play.
Part of the confusion is also what DNS gets entered at the registrar. Im sure Im forgetting something, so please ask if you need anymore info.
Thanks,
Tony
