Apache, high traffic, defunct processes.... on my!
I'm wondering if there is some sort of setting in apache that I can change to optimize this? Perhaps my Timeout is too short? (30 seconds) I wouldn't imagine that is the case since it's simply opening a file, appending a "1" and closing the file.
Could it be writing to slow? The machine is a xeon 3.06 with a gig of DDR, and 15k scsi drives. I was thinking of possibly making a seperate partition as Reiser FS as it's supposed to be much faster for small read/write and file handling?
I'm shooting in the dark here, if you guys could provide me with tools to better trouble shoot this or possibly tweaks to my httpd.conf, I would appreciate it.
