.htaccess & .htpasswd
Im havin a bummer of problem trying to get .htaccess & .htpasswd running with my apache server. I've used several online .ht creators, i've created the .ht files right as in i have named them .htaccess. I've placed the .htaccess file in the directory what i want to protect, i've the .htpasswd file in another directory like it states on other ''helpful'' websites, but when I enter my username and password, i get authorization error.
What im confused about the most is that your supposed to direct the .htaccess to the directory of .htpasswd. Well on my network the server route is like so... //server//C/appserv/www/folder_that_needs_protecting so how would i set the .htaccess to find the .htpasswd, as in what would be the 'direction', would i do http://myserverip/folder_needs_protecting or what??
