/dev/pts question
I have a few servers, and one of them is acting a bit differently to the others.
When i login to any of my servers i get the first /dev/pts available, eg, if there are no users online, i get /dev/pts/0
but on one of my servers, it doesn't start back at 0, for example, if i login for the first time i get /dev/pts/0, then if i logoff then log back on i get /dev/pts/1
at the moment im on /dev/pts/91
is there any reason for this and anyway i can fix it
only difference with this server is that it runs kernel 2.6 instead of 2.4
there is no cpanel on this server.... its slackware and all services are compiled from source
