Optimizing Win2k3 IIS for heavy loads
I have a fairly successful facebook application. We have since purchased 2 servers to accomodate.
Server 1:
Xeon X3350 Quad Core 2.66GHz 1333 FSB 12MB L2 cache (10640MHz)
RAID1 - 2x250GB
4GB RAM
Server 2:
Dual Xeon E5420 Quad Core 2.5GHz 1333 FSB 12MB L2 cache (20000MHz)
RAID1 - 2x250GB
4GB RAM
Server 1 we are using exclusively for our mysql database resources
Server 2 is being used for our webserver.
Both servers are running at less than 10% CPU usage, even under our highest periods of activity.
My issue is that our facebook application keeps timing out. ISS returns error code 200, but no data, or it just plain doesnt respond to the request.
I have tried optimizing the registry with everything I could find on the net about TCP/IP parameters, but nothing seems to be working.
I have also tried playing with the application pool settings, but this also is not having any effect.
Any assistance you might provide would be very much appreciated, as I have almost 6000 monthly users that are getting very frustrated.
Thanking you in advance.
