need help protecting member area. Pennywize?
I help my sister with her bodybuilding website. She has a free and member only area. im trying to find some protection against brute force and more importantly, password traders in her member area. (ive caught one so far, by luck). I have looked at Pennywize and would like to use it, however, since I am on a shared server (ww.dreamhost.com) they will not alter the httpd.conf files as needed for Pennywize to work. (say its a risk for everyone else on the server).
They willl allow it if pennywize (or similar script) can be managed from an htaccess file. Does anyone know if this is possible or can suggest any other program or method I can use?
I appreciate any help. I cant afford to be on anything but a shared server.
