SMTP refuses all new message client connections
A problem that began about 24 hours ago.Message is crossposted to Sun Server Appliance Forums as not all people read both froums.
System: raq2, in use for 5 years
current sendmail: sendmail-8.11.6
last patched over 12 months ago
When trying to send an email through my RAQ2, I get an error saying "The connection to the server was interrupted."
Every incoming connection to send an email is rejected by sendmail with a similar message, the version is client dependent, but all inducate the connection is being refused.
I have checked with clients using the server, and they all are seeing the same response.
I have stopped and started sendmail, restarted the server and gone through logs and am at a loss.
I am currently running the following pkgs, all in place well over a year
pkg info:
Cobalt OS Release 4.0
Open WebMail Release 1.71-20020917
OpenSSH Release 3.4p1-PM4
RaQ2-All-CMU Release 2.53
RaQ2-All-Security Release 4.0.1-10750
RaQ2-All-Security Release 4.0.1-13323
RaQ2-All-Security Release 4.0.1-13453
RaQ2-All-Security Release 4.0.1-14559
RaQ2-All-Security Release 4.0.1-14997
RaQ2-All-Security Release 4.0.1-15417
RaQ2-All-System Release 2.0.1-8374
RaQ2-All-System Release 4.0.1-7-9925
RaQ2-en-OSUpdate Release 4.0
Sendmail info:
/usr/sbin/sendmail-8.11.6/obj.Linux.2.0.34C52_SK.mips
I can send mail direct from the server, and all incoming mail is acceted as always.
Thanks to all for any input.
Bill
