Deleted most of home directory
Hi all,Due to a very silly accident, involving a cat and a broken 'up' button, I have managed to delete 2.5 GB of my home directory. It used to be 3.4 GB, and I managed to save the last 900 MB by pressing CTRL+C. The deleted documents basically contain every single piece of code I've written over the past five years. And since the my last backup was stolen from my office, there is only a very limited amount of this that I can retrieve of floppy's etc.
So I was wondering if someone could help.
I'm using suse 8 on a laptop which also runs windows. My understanding is that it should be possible to retrieve the files by umounting the partition and using debugfs, lsdel and dump. But I can't unmount /dev/hda3, as it is the harddrive linux runs on. My filesystem is reiserfs.
Also, if this somehow would work, would the retrieved files have lost their names?
Please help,
Sincerly, Ilmar
