Ping spikes
I have a UK dedicated server and most of the time I can get a ping of 15-40ms but an a fairly regular basis I get quite large spikes of anything between 100-1000 for several seconds then it drops back to normal.
This is a gaming server so it is a bit of a problem
Load averages are:
load average: 0.02, 0.05, 0.01
so that dosn't seem to be the problem
I have a relitivly small amount of memory 256mb on which I am running slackware 10, 2 CS servers and 2 incidences of team speak 2, and a half life tv server.
But this wouldn't seem like a memory related problem. My provider don't seem to be able to trace the problem.
Ideas / suggestions?
If your advise is just to hire someone to fix the problem then that isn't really useful as for all I know I could pay someone and be left with the problem.
