Conidering upgrading from RH 9 to CentOS

I have a RH 9 server (with cpanel) that I am conidering upgrading to CentOS.

I have read through this tutorial by Haze, as well as some other guides on the subject, and I am pretty confident that I understand most what needs to be done.

I still have couple of questions regarding the upgrade:

1) How much disk space do I need to have for the new centos rpms?

The current drive usage is:

df -k
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda6 2016044 386768 1526864 21% /
/dev/hda1 101107 18403 77483 20% /boot
/dev/hda2 10080520 3461744 6106708 37% /usr
/dev/hda3 8064304 2035732 5618916 27% /var
/dev/hda7 1011956 39784 920768 5% /tmp
/dev/hda8 53628888 31538416 19366252 62% /home
none 515792 0 515792 0% /dev/shm
/dev/hdb1 76920448 46366556 26646484 64% /backup
Sorry if that is hard to read, I'm not sure how to fix the spacing in the post. A any ideas if I would be ok on space?

2) What version of centos would be best to upgrade to? I recently installed 3.4 on a local pc to play with. Does 3.4 play nice with cpanel?

3) If after all the centos rpms and kernel are installed the server will not boot to the centos kernel can I reboot to the old RH kernel. This assumes of course that I left the RH 9 kernel as default in the grub.conf file.

4) I am not clear if after booting to the centos kernel if cpanel needs to be updated or not? I tend to think it would. If so would a simple # /scripts/upcp take care of the cpanel update?

Any answers, comments or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I am not sure what the forum rules dictate on this, but I am also open to pms from people who would be interested in performing the upgrade (paid job of course) and have successfully performed this upgrade in the past on several different production boxes.

Thanks,
