Hey Guys,

Wondering if those with a lot of experience may be able to throw out a few suggestions. We're looking to fill the small gap of downtime occurring on our servers. One of the smaller issues our small company is trying focus on is why file systems are going READ-ONLY once and a blue moon on random servers. I've been researching extra methods or suggestions of preventive maintenance we could do to try to stop some of this, but I'm coming up a bit short on the Search Engines. The problem with this happening is sometimes it forces a FSCK causing more downtime. Boo to downtime! :/

Is there anything extra that those of you are doing out there to try to stop or prevent some of your servers from throwing a READ-ONLY file system by chance? I'm interested in any suggestions or theories those that own servers might have.

Our Server Specs:

Dual Intel Xeon Quad-Core 2.33 Ghz Processors
16 GB Kingston DDR2-667 ECC Fully Buffered RAM
3Ware 9650SE Raid-6 Controller with Battery Backup
Seagate Barracuda ES (Enterprise Storage) Hard Drives

Thank you for taking the time to read, and I really appreciate your feedback.

Regards,
