Can't download email via Outlook

Hello,

One of my user's mailboxes seems to be locked.

System is FreeBSD, running Exim & DA.

Outlook & Outlook Express report 'receiving list of messages' and that's as far as they get - eventually this times out.

I have copied the mail file to another location, deleted it & then the mailbox works fine. I copy the mail back - it locks again. I have created a new email account - tested and works properly, copy the emails into that - then that mailbox locks.

So there is something in the mail file that is causing it to lock up.

However, I can view all emails via webmail - and 'UltrafunkPopCorn' can download the headers, and download the emails??

I've gotten the clinet to use webmail to foward to another email address, deleted the email file so they are working properly now, but what can I do to find out what was wrong with the mailbox file, and what I can do in the future to fix it appart from deleting it?
