Numerous sgi_fam connections?

Recently I started getting this in my logs:

Connections:
Service sgi_fam:
<no address>: 486 Time(s)

I tried searching on google and didnt find much help. Does anyone know what this mean and if it needs to be resolved what is required to resolve it? Running on Fedora Core 2
