SCSI RAID1 Speed
I have a server with Adaptec 2015S and two U320 SCSI HDD doing a RAID1 configuration, hdparm result shows:
[~]# hdparm -tT /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
Timing buffer-cache reads: 2472 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1236.00 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 76 MB in 3.06 seconds = 24.84 MB/sec
on the same server, i have a single scsi harddrive (no raid), hdparm result shows:
[~]# hdparm -tT /dev/sdb
/dev/sdb:
Timing buffer-cache reads: 2428 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1214.00 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 184 MB in 3.02 seconds = 60.93 MB/sec
Is my RAID1 speed normal? or extremely slow? Should I be worrying about this? If it is slow, could anyone please siggest what might be the causes?
