How many active users?

Hi,

I'm running a service where I'm selling online collaboration systems. Fancy words, yes. hehe.

Well it's basicly a platform that can be used as a project management system, an extranet or just a plain forum. It all depends on how it's configured.

Anyhow, the price is decided by how many user-licences the customer want aswell as what package.

In my calculations I have had in mind how many active users my server can handle at once. With this data, I have esimated how many users my server could hold.

I have a Dual Xeon 2.4 Ghz server with 1 GB ram.
The php script takes like 8 MB and one apache process is like 18 MB.

I calculated that the server could handle about 600 active users. (500 to be on the safe side)

I estimated that only 10% of all registered users would be online at the same time.

This makes that I can have 5000 users on the server.

Tell me, have I calculated this completly wrong? It's really important that I get this right, because it reflects the prices for the packages.

Thanks! =)
