Linux God.. where art thou
My GSP is using 2.6 kernel on FC 1 which provides a device latency equal to 1000hz. What we would like to do, as I believe some other GSP's may have accomplished, is to limit that device latency per user...or perhaps, per group. Game servers will process information at a much higher rate with 1000hz device latency. However, we do not wish to provide such high CPU consumption unless that user is paying a premium for that service. If we could lock the device latency, we would be able to keep users from manually altering their configurations (which is very easy to do) to enable higher CPU utilization. We'd like to simply lock the device latency to 100hz for standard customers and enable the full 1000hz to our premiere customers. Anyone know how to do this?
Regards.
