Help with a sendmail problem

Hi,

I have been fighting this problem for a while now and would
greatly appreciate and advice.
I'm not a tech guy but I have a free lancer who works with me
and he is stumped as well.

I have a multi-forums business online and the script needs to
send emails at various times. The problem is many new members
never receive their "Welcome" email from my script because
my email gets rejected by their mail server.
Some users get the emails fine and others do not.
I believe the rejected emails are rejected because the receiving mail server thinks my servers email is a spam.

We have tried making our headers proper and really don't know
what to do? Is there some process one can use to 'register' their
sendmail server so that all my emails will be accepted.
I constantly have new members emailing me saying:
"I never received my new account email containing my password".
I am really at a loss as how to go about solving this problem.
I am not a spammer and my server only sends emails when
a new user joins, or they request a new password, etc...

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks,

WR Taylor
