Hyper Threading + Linux. Memory leakage?
We have been using AMD servers since day one, but recently tried out a 3.0GHZ Pentium 4. With 1Gb ram its memory usage it was rocketing up to 50-60% usage (30% max usualy). After a reboot it went normally from its stable 22% and raised over 24hrs to 50+% once again. We added another stick of 1GB and it lowered the normal usage from 22~ down to 10 or so. But once again it went back up to over 50% usage, (thats insane with adding another 1Gb). So we recompiled with High Memory support which didnt do the trick. Then reverted back and ditched HT. What a suprise, The usage went down by far. The usage was around 16% which was a little high but figures seemed to 'sort of' match up.
Is there any ideas to use HT effectively without a memory leak as such?
