need help/recommendations for mail server
here's my story:
yesterday, moved a nice forum to my own server that i put together. runs apache, windows xp, php, mysql, perl. everything going good until i went on the forum, a phpbb forum to be exact.
phpbb has 2 e-mail features, topic reply notification, and mass e-mail.
on my server, those 2 features aren't working. after giving it some thought, i believe it is because i don't have any type of mail server installed on my machine.
i really want to get those 2 features working. because i am new to this, i am not even sure if a mailserver it the solution to that problem. also, i have no clue what mail server to install to get it to work if i do indeed need a mailserver. isfsomebody could help me out here, i would really really appreciate it.
