I have a question, i had a computer on a ups, when a storm came, and the power went out, and the computer stayed on. But it froze, so i unplugged it, now i pressed the button on the front of it and it wont start up, however on the back the green light shows there is power. I did smell smoke after the power went out and came on, could it be the power supply that burned up? I took out the motherboard and everything, i checked the chips, and they were not burned or smell of smoke to my knowledge, thats why im assuming the power supply is burned up? Also my cable modem burned up because the ups cant protect it, because the cat5 cable comes from the cable modem to the ups, and then to the routers, the routers are ok... I had to get a new cable modem though. Any help would help me a lot...
