database error

hi,
I got this problem about this database error , please give any suggestions

mySQL error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (11) mySQL error code: Date: Friday 22nd of July 2005 12:24:31 AM
the error display once in awhile. especially when the peak time like at nite
