New HD WD 10K RPM RAPTOR on pci card big problem, what now?
Somebody here using WD 10K RPM RAPTOR on pci sata controller?How that work for you?
Yesterday my host added on my server that HD on that way but I have big problems with that HD, I want that HD for better speed (now I have two sata 7200RPM HD) but I don`t get that!
After installation all work fine but HD work very very slow:
1.8 MB/S (hdparm -tT) and my old HDs work on over 58MB/s!!
I contacted my host and they tell to me that I must enable DMA, I enable it (hdparm -d1 /dev/hde) but now I have this:
hdparm -tT /dev/hde
/dev/hde:
read() failed: Input/output error
Timing buffered disk reads: read() failed: Input/output error
and now when i disable DMA I have same error...
Also, I don`t know is that normal, this new SATA HD look like ATA HD (/dev/hde not sde, first two look fine /dev/sda and /dev/sdb)!!!??
Somebody know what now?? I want faster hd not this

Also, I don`t know why they use this motherboards with only 2 sata ports but that is some other question

Thanks.
