Incremental FTP -> HDD backup
Ive been looking for a program to use for creating backups of my servers. The to-be-backupped servers run linux, the backup-to server runs windows.
I need the program to make a daily incremental backup via ftp, of a certain set of directories. Sounds easy, but so far I have only found two programs: Handybackup and ws_ftp pro.
Handybackup, as it turns out, has serious performance problems. While every other FTP client is able to login / transfer files in just a few seconds, it takes Handybackup minutes. Lots of disconnects. Tested with both passive and active FTP. It also seems unable to list large directories, with lots of files. Just times-out then.
ws_ftp seems to work, but isn't very practical in scheduling (Uses windows scheduler), and doesnt notify if a backuptask has been succesfully completed or aborted with an error.
So I was wondering if you maybe know another program that I could try? It needs to backup from FTP to HDD, incredmental, scheduled daily, and needs to notify if there is a problem.
