I'm planning to enable SMTP on an additional port soon to accomodate users behind restrictive ISPs. This is easy enough to do through WHM/Service Manager, but the question is, *which* additional port to use? 26 is the suggested default, but I'm concerned that soon it too could be become blocked if it goes into wide use. I could pick an unused port # at random, but I'm thinking it might make sense to use something not likely to be blocked, such as 8088 or 8080.
Any thoughts on this? Common/best practice in this department?
