I have made a webservice which checks to see if there is an update on my application (all developed in C#) and if there is, it sends the update to the requesting client
My app consists of 2 apps:
Client (runs on mobile device - SPV)
Server (runs on the PC)
the server can see the update fine and downloads it.
the client sees the update but cannot download it and gives the error "protocol Error" and "WebException" as well as "httpwebresponse" and that is it! nothing more!
WIERD thing is, if i tell the application(s) to connect to the webservice on my local computer - it works fine! the client app can see AND download the update fine! It's only on the webserver that it doesnt appear to succeed in downloading it.
Carl from AXWebhosting has been great, and so has his team, in trying to look through logs and track down what is going on but we are both stumped
does anyone know what the heck is going on? I am really puzzled...
