I have had access to a web server running Free BSD/Apache for several years to maintain my personal web site. About 2-3 times a year I am denied access when I attempt to login. This occurs after being able to successfully login repeatedly. In the past I have called the server administrator, who has "worked his magic" to again allow me access. Access denial occurred about 2 weeks ago. When I recently called the Admin., he stated that there must be something wrong with my directory. (He still has not called me back.) I use a Macintosh running OSX 10.2.8 (Unix-based). I access the server via MacSFTP. I regularly run system applications on my Mac in order to prevent of fix directory/permission issues. My questions are: Should the system Administrator of the server I am using be running routine applications or scripts either to prevent or to fix permission or other issues that would otherwise prevent me from successfully logging in to the server? Could the lack of running routine applications or scripts cause me to be denied access by the server? Thank you.
