New to SSL

Hello I was curious if someone could tell me a bit more about SSL. I understand it's purpose, but what i don't understand is how i set it up and use it within my applications. I will be running a on location web server that will host a typical e-commerce site. I obviously want me customers to have a secure expierence and therefor would like to implement i high grade 256 SSL encryption across all data that will be passed between Server and Client.

I would like to know how to install a SSL certificate on a Windows 2003 server.

I would also like to know what i need to do to my Web Store Application to make it comply with the certificate.
