Log Analyzer Suggestion Needed!

Hi guys -- I've been looking for a good log analyzer and prefer it to the "live stats" ones that don't necessarily work as well as I've seen, usually cost way too much and can tax your server. Additionally, I find it easier to just read the log files and analyze all the data in that manner.

I'm not unwilling to pay and found surfstats to be an excellent looking package at around $100. Unfortunately after purchase I found it is has a "machine ID lock" which means not only are you limited to 10 domains per license but also per machine. If you have a work, home and laptop computer that's $300 just to look at 2 domains. Additionally, I've found these locking mechanism to be hell when you need to upgrade your hard drive, reinstall windows from scratch, etc. Nothing like hoping the company is still in business.

Any other suggestions? I'm looking for something powerful but don't care to spend as much as webtrends demands for mostly its brand. Thanks in advance.
