After spending a long time installing this thing adding all monitoring services and what not and ##'s something servers im ready to trash it just about. It reports Socket timeout after 10 seconds or Critical msg for DNS service on any server at random. While I am confident there is nothing wrong with the DNS on the servers it checking maybe there is something?? but what to look for? I make sure dns is running and resolving and it is, so I seem to think its Nagios thats messed up, but what do I look for in Nagios maybe I made an error ? Sometimes everythings ok but the notifications it sends (I could turn it off but defeats the purpose) is anoying me lol . On a side note if I removed dns checking, it works 100% like it should so im really starting to wonder whats truly wrong.
