Mail Problem 550 Conection denied
Hi, if Im posting in the wrong section please move my post.I have a problem with the email server, everything was working fine till Monday. But now when I try to send email I get an error saying 550 Connection denied after dictionary attack. Ive talk to my hosting provider and he says it has nothing to do with his server and blames it on my LAN. I am guessing he just doesnt know since he asked me what a dictionary attack was. I have done the following tests:
I am using outlook express to test different email accounts and out of 5 only two failed with the same error (both domains parked with him) the other 3, one from my ISP, the other from another hosting provider, and the third from yahoo (pop access) worked perfectly.
I have tried sending mail thru telnet same result 550 Connection denied after dictionary attack.
I have tried sending mail from a different location (different IP) and it goes fine.
I have tried using webmail instead and it works ok
So I think his server has blocked my IP, he is running Linux by the way. Is there any way I can fix this? maybe thru Cpanel? What would be the time frame for his server to reset and accept the IP again? I am not very good at linux so if anyone can tell me what he has to do so I can tell him.
Thanks in advance
Federico
NOTE: I have ADSL so I got my IP assigned dynamically, and of course I didnt do any dictionary attack on him.
