PureFtpd with APF Firewall
I installed apf firewall and I specified both inbound and outboud ports for my services. I noticed when I upload via ftp in passive mode and i make a connection to the server on a port that wasn't listed in both my inbound or outboud ports in my firewall. I did a nestat -an and sure enough that port was being listened on by the pureftpd.
How is this happening?
Note:
Yeah, I restarted the apf when I was done editing the conf file.
