Mail Server Performance Tuning
I am using the following spec, for one of my customer as a mail server around 1000 email user, with clamav antivirus, spamassasin spam filter and sendmail, pop3/imap, but the server load is pretty high, load average 4, peak to 10 to 12.
Dell PowerEdge 2850.
2 x Intel Xeon 2.8Ghz 1MB Cache
2GB ECC DDR2-400 RAM
2 x 73GB SCSI HDD (Non raid)
OS: Fedora1
Below is the mail statistic of the mail server, average processing 10,000 a day. The load mainly can from, virus scan, spam filtering, and user login/logout of pop3/imap (around 15,000 login to pop3 per day).

Any recommendation to reduce the server load, will adding more RAM helps ?
