PostgreSQL root password ?

How can I reset the root password of pgsql ? Ive tried it via WHM but it doesnt work.

I am only trying to import a .sql file with the command:

psql xxxx_xxxx< /home/xxxxx/public_html/eadcmm/centre/xxxxx.sql > centre.log
psql: FATAL: Password authentication failed for user "root"

Any help is appreciated PostgreSQL root password ?
