Transferring Large Accounts using WHM

I've outgrown a VPS and just bought a dedi at LayeredTech. What is the best way to transfer large accounts? When I use the WHM transfer method with the root password, it always seems to corrupt accounts over 1 GB on the original server. When I migrated from VPS to VPS it happened and then it happened again last night. I had to rebuild the accounts using offsite backups.

I do the transfers one domain at a time and never have a problem with the accounts that are below 1GB. Anyone else have this problem? Is there another "easy" way?
