The better processor for a forum

I don't know if it's obvious but which is better for an invision message board

a dual intel xeon 2.8ghz
cpanel
256mb ram

or

a dual amd opteron 1.7ghz
directadmin
256mb ram

I'm talking about two different vps packages.

I read that opterons are hands down better but in this case the xeon is faster. Throw me a bone please.
