Need urgent help with Cpanel MySQL backup!!
I have a dedicated server with ONE domain on it (I run
an autoresponder service on it).
For months my database backup download has been very slow
(it seemed to get slower and slower)... But suddenly it has
dropped from downloading at around 10 kb's per second
to just 2 kb's per second! It's so slow that it won't even
finish the complete backup! It just stops and says "download
complete" at like 10 MB's (it varies) - but it's a 57 MB file!
So I don't know what to do?? The server load during the
backup is also high - at 6 or 7. I need to generate a backup
but I haven't been able to do so the past couple days!
ANY advice that anybody can provide is greatly appreciated.
I plan to get a second hard drive to run daily backups on
(rather than downloading to my desktop), but won't there
still be an issue with the download "timeouts"? In other
words, if it's not doing the full backup when I backup to
my local PC, won't there be the same problem when
backing up to a second hard drive?
