Dedicated not responding at random
I'm still having this ongoing issue with my server except now I have a little more information, and am hoping maybe someone can suggest what I can do.
Basically, at random, my server will stop responding on it's external IP. I do have openvpn running on it and when the server seems to go dead, I can still access everything through openvpn, however it's external IP is dead in the water, which is odd because the openvpn link is going through that same IP. The occurace is fairly rare, as far as I know, but it could be happening more frequently that I know of.
I tried contacting my provider to see if they could figure out what was wrong, but they couldn't really find anything wrong. So naturally, I'm stumped. I checked every log possible, and nothing indicates anything out of the ordinary at the times that it does down. And I don't even really have any way to constantly check to make sure it's up. I mean unless I refresh a web page every 5 seconds 24 hours a day, I don't really know how else to know how frequently.
Also, it seems to stop responding for about 30-60 seconds, possibly a little longer, so my window of oppertunity to try and test things is limited.
Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks!
