Single CPU on 2Way server board
I would like to find out if anyone has or is running a server in which the motherboard can support 2 CPU's, but actually have 1 CPU installed?
Is it possible to do this, or are is there a performance hit due to a dual proc mobo utilizing 1 physical cpu?
Would such a condition require a kernel recompile to support smp when 2nd cpu is added at a leter date?
